Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman in business. The current president is and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as part of a wealthy family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty business tycoon before becoming the owner of the Lakers. When her parents broke up in 1972 she felt that they'd abandoned her. At the age of 19, she was employed within the family's company. Then she founded the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before becoming the Vice president of the Lakers. Buss inherited her share of the Lakers from her father in 2013. The five siblings she had were the inheritors through a family estate trust. Buss assumed the role of president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also owns Women of Wrestling, a professional organization that has its headquarters within Los Angeles.
