Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was who was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father had an ethnically Jewish origin. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County to California when she was seven years old. Here, they did not have electricity. Ryder who loved reading when she was 12 became a book worm because Ryder had no access to television. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was twelve years old. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986, and Ryder who was just 15 years old, was offered the role of a leading actress. Ryder was bullied throughout high school.
